Tune in not out

Podcast Workshops

The podcasts are created FOR and BY young people through:

  • Real Life Projects and;
  • The virtual production Studio

Real Life Projects

Working with colleges, TAFEs, universities, community groups and interested individuals Tune In Not Out run podcast creation workshops. These projects have been launched in Tasmania, with plans to run workshops in other states as the project develops.

In the workshops, participants use an evidence-based factsheet, produced by Reach Out!, as a factual basis to create a 5- 10 minute podcast in a style of their choosing, whether this be interview, poem, film, animation, song etc. The podcast created can be in audio or audio/video format

As part of the project young people will;

  • Follow a podcast brief
  • Undertake further research where necessary and ensure the accuracy of this
  • Source and interview subjects for the podcast
  • Produce a script and story board
  • Research and learn about interviewing and recording methods
  • Record the podcast using audio and video equipment
  • Edit the podcast
  • Complete the podcast brief for submission to the site

Tune In Not Out offers a delivery method to suit each group. Groups can either produce their podcast independently or have the project officer facilitate some aspects of the process.
