Being a girl is not as easy as it looks. Thereâs the bad hair days, the âI just want to cryâ days, the WHEREâS MY CHOCOLATE DAYS, and the everything is perfect days. But there is much more to being a girl than meets the eye.
Beauty- it is what on the inside that counts, but girls donât always feel that way. There are always the constant worries about body image, having the âinâ fashion and fitting into society. Being a girl is a 24 hour, around the clock job, that requires strength and will power, but no matter what we are all individuals and perfect just the way we are.
Have you ever thought to yourself, âWhat on earth will I wear?â, or âI hope he likes me?â, before a first date? Yeah, me too.
But the truth is that you donât have to be anyone but yourself. If a guy doesnât appreciate you or respect you for who you are, then ask yourself âIs he really worth it?â. Finding the perfect guy is not as simple as it seems, but here are a few tips I have to look for in a genuine guy:
1.      He asks question about you and what you interests/hobbies are etc.
2.      He compliments you.
3.      He doesnât change who is he is when he is around others.
4.      He is genuine and makes you laugh and smile.
5.      He isnât big headed and doesnât try to impress you.
Finding love is finding someone who makes your heart beat faster, your insides feel warm and fuzzy and finding someone who loves you for YOU. The important thing for a girl to remember is to never underestimate yourself, because you are a WOMAN and we are capable of great things.
Always practice being self-confident, this not only decreases the chances of suffering from anxiety or depression but makes you feel good about yourself. The next time you walk past a mirror or catch a glimpse of yourself in a shop window think to yourself, âI am an individual and I am beautifulâ. This not only puts a smile on your face but the happiness you feel within is projected outwards onto others you are around, creating a positive environment for yourself.
Being a girl can be high maintenance, and although at times we feel like things canât get any worse we always know our friends and family will be there for us. Through the tears, happiness, joys, worries, scares and heart-breaks, girls will always stick together and always be waiting to help a friend in need. You know why? Because we understand.
So, before you eat twenty Tim Tams and before your face becomes streaked with mascara tears on your next bad day, think if it is really necessary. Look around at the life you have created for yourself and remember that no one is ever alone. If you ever do feel alone, seek help and advice in times of trouble from services such as Kids Help Line, or, reachout.com.au or here at www.tuneinnotout.com. We are girls, and yes we have needs and wants and dramas, but we are individual and are perfect in every way. And apart from our gossip and our dramatic nature, we have way more fun than the guys. So enjoy it, embrace it and LOVE it!!! GIRL POWER!!!
