We had heaps of great entries into our Top 3 Tips for a Great and Safe Festival Competition. The votes have now been cast and the winners can be announced.
Thanks everyone for your entries – check out all the top tips here

Best tip – By Mel

What a great opening tip – with friends there to look out for you, you can work out most other things together and ensure everyone has a great and safe festival, but as an added bonus you last the duration and stay warm!

Go with a bunch of good mates that will look after one another, whilst having a good time, no matter what happens. After all what’s a good concert without someone to share it with, take photos with and laugh about with later?

Pace yourself. You’re in for a long day/few days, make sure you’ll still be dancing when the great bands kick off.

Always take a cute jumper/jacket – I know it sounds Nanna. But seriously, no matter how warm it is during the day it WILL get cold and the mosh pit will only sustain you for so long! Xx

Mel has won a Logitech Alarm Clock and Speaker system – in purple – very nice

Most Creative – My Rebecca

Rebecca’s tips ensure you get to be creative on the day whilst smelling good!

PLASTIC: Take some plastic ziplock sandwich bags with you to keep your mobile and camera dry! Regardless of whether it rains or not, someone WILL spill their drink on you at some stage of the day and the last thing you want is your camera to die and you won’t be able to capture all of the moment…s.

DELETE: It’s a good idea to go through your camera/phone the day before the gig and delete any photos you’ve already uploaded to your computer. Nothing worse than when your fav band is on and you’ve run out of room on your camera!

DEODORANT: Always. Wear. Deodorant! There’s absolutely nothing worse than being in a mosh surrounded by stinky people… Do your part for the festival!

Rebecca has won Student Edge Goodie bag (let us know what comes inside) and a $30 iTunes voucher

Most Unusual – By Dave

Dave has ensured we stay hydrated in the mosh pit, but can dispose of it the other end! We guess he doesn’t mean for it to be reused again – and umm, the girls might find this tip a bit harder. Dave is also making sure we party safe and stay dry.

Take supplies when entering the mosh. you may have to battle for hours to get that special spot on the rail, you don’t want to leave to get water or sunscreen etc. (get a standard single use water bottle from Save a Mate of a kiosk. drink half, squeeze the air out and crush it flat. fits in nearly any pocket ;) also…, learn how to pee in the bottle when its empty…….

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS party safe. if you do end up pitching a tent in the rain, make sure your wearing a rain coat ;)

Dave has won himself a portable hard drive and a $30 iTunes voucher.
